Davos, the highest town in #Europe (1,560 meters). Surrounded by mountains, it houses the largest ski station in Switzerland. However, Davos is not famous for its snow but for hosting the World Economic Forum (#WEF). It all started in 1972 by Klaus M. Schwab, a professor at the University of Geneva, who initially invited 444 executives from European companies to a meeting on corporate #governance in the convention center of Davos. He couldn’t have imagined that this meeting would turn into an international #summit gathering all the world leaders whose aim for the time being is to build an #inclusive and sustainable future on our planet. Unfortunately, due to #pandemic this year meeting was delayed till June. Nevertheless thanks to the Davos Agenda we still have an opportunity to participate in a #global #dialogue even though it would be held virtually.
“The deferral of the Annual Meeting will not prevent progress through continued digital convening of leaders from business, government and civil society,” said Professor Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum. “Public-private cooperation has moved forward throughout the pandemic and that will continue apace. We look forward to bringing global leaders together in person soon.”
