"Every child should have mud pies, grasshoppers, water bugs, tadpoles, frogs, mud turtles, elderberries, wild strawberries, acorns, chestnuts, trees to climb. Brooks to wade, water lilies, woodchucks, bats, bees, butterflies, various animals to pet, hay fields, pine-cones, rocks to roll, sand, snakes, huckleberries and hornets; and any child who has been deprived of these has been deprived of the best part of…education" -Luther Burbank
« Nais in the land of wolves » is a documentary directed by Rémy Masséglia and based on a story of a father and his daughter who set off in the footsteps of the wolves in the #Mercantour park. At the time of filming, in #Breil-sur-Roya (Alpes-Maritimes), his daughter, Naïs, was still a baby. She is now four years old, she has just started #school, however she has already received the best part of #education. Even being adults, if we don't understand anything, we turn to #nature for help. Mother Nature has the power to inspire us, #reenergise us and teach us things that can not be heard in the sometimes noisy and over cluttered world. And the best thing we can do for the #generations to come is to #encourage them to find their own interests in the #natural world. As parents and educators, we need to make the #space available for children to ask questions and learn how to discover and #recognize clues to the #answers that they seek.
