The Energy Transition Summit by The Economist on March 4th was an unforgettable convergence of minds passionate about our planetâs energy future. Far from being just another event, it was a dynamic assembly of industry leaders, emerging innovators, and dedicated visionaries from various fields, all gathered to tackle the complex challenges and opportunities of the energy transition.
The summit was a rare opportunity to dive deep into the realm of energy transition, offering a platform not just for networking, but for truly groundbreaking discussions. From exploring sustainable practices with Inga Doak, Head of Sustainability and ESG at the Royal Mint, to absorbing the forward-thinking strategies outlined by François Gaudet of the European Investment Bank, every session added to my understanding of where we stand and where we need to go in this pivotal journey.
A personal highlight was engaging in dialogue with Devrim Celal, CEO of Kraken by Octopus Energy, about the promise and challenges of electric vehicles (EVs). His optimism, paired with practical insights, underscored a shared ambition for a cleaner, more sustainable future.
Moreover, the session featuring Jeff Gustavson, Vice President of Lower Carbon Energies at Chevron, was a revelation. Hearing Chevronâs endorsement of green hydrogen as the futureâs fuel underscored the importance of innovation and cross-sector collaboration in achieving our sustainability objectives. It was a clear demonstration that even the giants of the industry are pivoting towards more sustainable energy solutions.
The #EnergyTransitionSummit was more than just an event; it was a source of hope and motivation, reminding us of the collective effort required to navigate the challenges of our energy transition. It reinforced my belief that, together, we are capable of driving significant, positive change towards a more sustainable and resilient world.
I extend my gratitude to The Economist for orchestrating such an impactful summit, rich with valuable insights and inspiring discussions. It was truly an honor to be part of a community so deeply committed to shaping a sustainable energy future. #Sustainability #Innovation #FutureEnergy #GreenHydrogen
