Monaco Ocean Week 2024

As the curtain falls on Monaco Ocean Week, the Principality of Monaco reaffirms its leadership in the crusade for ocean preservation. This year's event spotlighted a convergence of milestones and collaborations that magnify Monaco's pledge to marine conservation.

A beacon of the week's festivities was the renewed partnership between the high fashion powerhouse, Chanel, and the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation. This collaboration, rejuvenated amidst the buzz of Ocean Week, zeroes in on the fight against plastic pollution in the Mediterranean through the ambitious BeMed initiative. This alliance was celebrated in the dignified presence of Monaco's Sovereign Prince, symbolizing a united front against environmental threats.

Adding a layer of cultural depth to the week, the launch of "Monaco and the Sea" offered attendees a dive into the historical and natural heritage of Monaco. This forum, slated for June 7 and 8, 2025, at Monaco's Grimaldi Forum, is anticipated as a precursor to the United Nations Ocean Conference, aiming to chart a course for sustainable oceanic development.

A landmark partnership between the Ramoge and Pelagos agreements was another highlight, heralding a new chapter in marine conservation efforts. Witnessed by H.S.H. Prince Albert II, this alliance marks a significant step towards unified conservation actions.

The week reached its zenith with the Ocean Innovators Platform, a gathering that brought together a dynamic mix of entrepreneurs, investors, and thought leaders, all committed to oceanic safeguarding. This forum was a showcase for the latest in innovative technologies and solutions aimed at combating plastic pollution, promoting aquaculture, and the effective stewardship of Marine Protected Areas (MPAs), setting the sails towards a sustainable oceanic future.
