More than 33 million people have been affected by the extreme flooding in Pakistan since mid-June, and more than 1,300 have been killed, including 458 children, according to officials. More than 100,000 pregnant people have reportedly also been displaced by floods in the country's Sindh province, and the government says only 891 have made it to relief camps.
The UN has thus far asked for $160 million in aid to help Pakistani flood victims, but the country's Finance Minister Miftah Ismail told CNBC that's not nearly enough. 'The total damage is close to $10 billion, perhaps more, said Ismail, ´Clearly, it is not enough. Despite meager resources, Pakistan will have to do much of the heavy lifting MonAsia Association provided financial aid to support the flood-affected communities via the Red Cross of Monaco.
